eBook Editing Manual

 

1.      To create a new book, just click the “Create a new eBook Project” button on main page. In this main page, you also can see the list of projects you’ve already started.

 

2.      After creating a project, you will be redirected to project profile automatically. You will see different options on this page, including “Book Name”, “Author”, “Genre”, “Status”, “Language”, ”Template” and “Description”.

 

3.      You can enter the basic information of the book in “Book name”, “Author”, “Genre” and “Description” fields.

 

 

4.      In the “Status” menu, you can mark this book project is “In Progress” or “Finished”. This will help you to tell whether this project is done or not, and will be helpful to manage your other projects in the future.

 

5.      In “Language” menu, you can decide which language is used in your book. This will help our convertor display your book content correctly. Until now, we support three languages – English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese.

6.      If you choose a non-English language as the default language of your book, we provide additional font options for you.

 

7.      “Template” option allows you to display your book in a single style (Global) or multiple style (Page-By-Page) in different pages.

8.      You can DELETE this project by clicking the “Remove Project” button. BE CAREFUL, THE ACTION WILL REMOVE ALL MATERIAL YOU WORKED OR UPLOADED INCLUDING IMAGES AND TEXTS.

 

9.      If want to save the update in this page, just click the “Update Project” button.

 

 

10.  After editing profile, you can decide your book cover in “Cover” section by clicking “Cover” tab in the left column. We provide two types of cover design – text and image. In the first 3 options, you can choose the position of your book name, author name and dates in the cover page. After choosing the position, just click “Set Book Cover” then you will see the preview on the right thumbnail.

 

 

11.  If you want to use an image as your cover, please click the fourth option. The file uploading system will appear. For the best balance between the display quality and book size, we only allow.jpeg or .gif images, and the size should be under 2MB. After choosing your image and clicking the “Set Book Cover” button, you will see your uploaded cover image on the right thumbnail.

12.  After setting your book cover, you can add, remove, and move chapters of your book in “Catalog & Content” section. You can click “add Sub-Item” to add new chapters and sections of the book. You also can construct hierarchical structure as displayed in blue circle.

13.  You can change the position of chapters or sections in the same level. For example, you can move chapter 2 before chapter 1, but you can not move section 2 of chapter 1 before chapter 1.

 

 

 

 

 

14.  If you want to edit the content of chapters or sections, just click “Edit” button.

15.  In the editing page of contents, you can edit chapter title, chapter description and content.

 

 

16.  If you want to insert images into your content, just click “Upload and insert images” link.

After clicking the link, an image list page will pop up. You can upload .jpeg and .gif images with sizes less than 2MB. You also can delete the unwanted images in this page. If you want to insert some images, please click “Insert” link then the image will be inserted into the content.

 

17.  You also can set template value in content page. “Quick template” menu stores your saved template, so you can choose them in the menu and apply them to different content pages. You also can keep “Quick template” as “None” then enter and save the template detail in “Appearance” part by clicking “Save” button in “Appearance” part. Please notice the new template value will apply only after saving. If you are not sure what the fields mean, please keep using the default values. If you set template as global in profile page, the new template values will be applied in all chapters and sections of your book and the old setting will be reset as new values.

 

18.  After editing the content, you can export your content as different types of eBooks, including ePub and PDF. Or you can choose to submit the book to our website for sale.
